Halloween Escape Rooms in Northern Virginia (2026): Two October-Only Stories

For October, Bond's re-dresses two of its escape rooms for Halloween. Since Wednesday 7 October, Bowl Voyage in Fairfax has been Bowl Voyage: Blood Bowl, and Elven Forest in Arlington has been Elven Forest: The Crawling Dark. Same rooms, same price, new stories and new decorations. Both run through Sunday 1 November.
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, so the last weekend of October is the one to book early. Here is what each October room is, who it suits, and how to build a Halloween night around it.
What changes at Bond's in October
Two rooms change. The other 13 don't, and neither do the VR Arena or the Game Show in Fairfax.
The basics stay the same too. Every escape room is $34 a person, runs 60 minutes and is private, so you're never paired with strangers. A game master watches the whole hour and sends a hint whenever you ask. The door is never locked.
Bond's year-round horror rooms keep running through October: Molly's Horror Room, The Frightful Feast and Survive the Joker's Trap in Fairfax, and Sleepover Slaughterhouse and Dr. Panic's Asylum in Arlington. All 15 rooms are on the escape rooms page.
Bowl Voyage: Blood Bowl (Fairfax)
It starts as a routine dive to clean the aquarium's biggest reef tank. Then someone makes a deadly mistake: radioactive sharks are released into your tank instead of their quarantine pen. They circle the edge, the water churns with chum and blood, and your oxygen is running low. You have an hour to switch on hidden filtration systems, mask the scent of blood and distract the sharks long enough to clear a way out.
If you've played Bowl Voyage, know this before you book: the puzzles are the same. The Halloween edition changes the story and the decorations, not the game. If you've already escaped the tank, pick another room. If you haven't, October is a good month to play it.
- Players: 2 to 4. It's built for two, so a couple can book it without buying a third ticket.
- Difficulty: Beginner. Bond's calls it a room for all ages with a few tough puzzles, and recommends at least one player over 13.
- Best for: couples, small families and first-timers who want Halloween without horror.
- Where: 3949 University Dr in Old Town Fairfax, with free parking on site. See Blood Bowl.
Elven Forest: The Crawling Dark (Arlington)
Deep in the cursed forest of Gahl-Zaan, an ancient elven temple holds the magic your people need. The forest has new masters: giant spiders nesting in the ruins, their webs on every tree. You play the band of elves sent to break into the temple and claim the magic. One wrong move stirs the webs.

If you've played Elven Forest, know this before you book: the puzzles are the same. The Halloween edition changes the story and the decorations, not the game. The Crawling Dark also ran last October, so if you played it then, this is the same game back again.
- Players: 3 to 8.
- Difficulty: Intermediate.
- Scare level: spiders and a dark forest. Bond's keeps it on its kid-friendly list for October. If anyone in your group is properly afraid of spiders, this is the one to skip.
- Where: 2800 Clarendon Blvd, Suite 910, inside Clarendon Center, five minutes' walk from Clarendon Metro on the Orange and Silver lines. The floor is fully accessible by elevator. See The Crawling Dark.
Which one should your group book?
| Room | Where | Players | Difficulty | Scare level | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Blood Bowl (October) | Fairfax | 2–4 | Beginner | Halloween theme, all ages | Pairs, small families, first-timers |
| The Crawling Dark (October) | Arlington | 3–8 | Intermediate | Spiders and shadows, still kid-friendly | Families with older kids, friend groups |
| Sleepover Slaughterhouse (all year) | Arlington | 3–10 | Advanced | Bond's scariest room, 14+ | Horror fans, teens |
| Molly's Horror Room (all year) | Fairfax | 3–6 | Intermediate | "Thrilling, not too scary," 14+ | A group with one nervous member |
The October rooms are Halloween without the horror. To be frightened, book Sleepover Slaughterhouse in Arlington or The Frightful Feast in Fairfax. Our fear-level guide rates every Bond's horror room from 1 to 5, and the horror escape rooms near me guide covers the wider DMV.

Make it a Halloween night
Book early for Saturday 31 October. The military (15%) and GMU student (20%) discounts run Sunday to Friday only, so they don't apply on Halloween itself. The 20% second-game discount works any day, Saturdays included. Details are on the deals page.
Play two in one building. In Fairfax, follow Blood Bowl with the VR Arena, where Dead Ahead is a co-op zombie survival game, or the live Game Show. In Arlington, pair The Crawling Dark with Sleepover Slaughterhouse or Dr. Panic's Asylum. The two locations are about 25 minutes apart, so doing one of each takes planning.
Costumes. Bond's doesn't publish a costume rule, so call the location before you plan around one. Either way, you'll be kneeling, reaching and searching in low light. Leave the full-face mask and the long cape in the car.
Dinner nearby.
- Fairfax: Old Town is on the doorstep. The Auld Shebeen is at 3971 Chain Bridge Rd, Old Dominion Pizza Co. at 3950 University Dr, and Commonwealth Brewing at 10426 Main St. More in top Fairfax restaurants.
- Arlington: Bond's is inside Clarendon Center, and Colony Grill and Tatte Bakery & Cafe are in the same complex. On Halloween night, Clarendon Ballroom on Wilson Blvd runs The Haunted Ballroom from 9 PM.

A Halloween birthday? Bond's birthday package is a 2-hour event: an hour in the room, an hour in a private VIP room with pizza and drinks, and a birthday card hidden inside the game. It's $56 a guest on Saturdays and $49 Sunday to Friday. See escape room birthday parties.
The office outing? Groups of 6 to 150 start at $325 a team. See escape room team building, and our Halloween team outing ideas.
Giving it instead? Bond's gift cards arrive by email and work for any experience at either location.

Questions people ask
What Halloween escape rooms does Bond's have in 2026?
Two October editions: Bowl Voyage: Blood Bowl in Fairfax and Elven Forest: The Crawling Dark in Arlington, both since Wednesday 7 October and running through Sunday 1 November. Bond's year-round horror rooms, including Sleepover Slaughterhouse and Molly's Horror Room, also run all month.
Is Blood Bowl a new escape room?
No. It's the Halloween edition of Bowl Voyage. The puzzles are the same; the story and decorations change. If you've played Bowl Voyage, choose another room. The same goes for The Crawling Dark and Elven Forest.
Are the Halloween escape rooms too scary for kids?
The October rooms are Halloween-themed rather than horror. Blood Bowl is for all ages, with at least one player over 13 recommended, and Bond's keeps The Crawling Dark on its kid-friendly list. The horror rooms are recommended for 14 and up.
When do the Halloween escape rooms close?
Both October editions run through Sunday 1 November.
How much does a Halloween escape room cost at Bond's?
$34 a person for a private 60-minute game. Most rooms have a 3-ticket minimum ($102). Blood Bowl is built for two, so a pair pays for two tickets.
Is there a haunted escape room near me in Northern Virginia for adults?
Yes. Sleepover Slaughterhouse in Arlington is Bond's scariest room, and The Frightful Feast in Fairfax has scares and is many players' pick for its hardest. Both run year-round, including October.
