From Alexandria

From Old Town Alexandria, Arlington is the easy choice. It's about 7 miles up King Street and Washington Boulevard, or 14 to 28 minutes depending on the hour. Alexandria is a big city, though, and the drive from the West End is a different trip, so check it from your own address before you book.

Bond's Arlington is inside Clarendon Center at 2800 Clarendon Blvd, Suite 910. Take the ground-level elevator near the Crate and Barrel sign. The garage next door, with its entrance off Fillmore Street, maxes out around $13 a day and takes SpotHero reservations. Metered spaces on the horseshoe loop out front are $4 an hour, and there's free residential parking a short walk away.

By Metro, take the Blue Line from King St-Old Town to Rosslyn and change there to the Orange or Silver Line for Clarendon. Google Maps put the trip at about 36 minutes door to door on a Saturday afternoon. From Clarendon station it's about a five-minute walk.

Head to Fairfax instead if you want the VR Arena, the Game Show or a room only Fairfax has, such as Save the White House III. It's about 16 miles via I-495, or 22 to 40 minutes.

From Springfield, Annandale and Burke

Burke and Annandale are both closer to Fairfax. From Burke it's 5.3 miles up Burke Station Road, 12 to 22 minutes at both times we checked, and from Annandale it's 6.4 miles out Little River Turnpike. Springfield Town Center is 11.5 miles from Fairfax via the Beltway and Little River Turnpike, but Arlington is about the same drive via I-395, so let the room you want decide.

Bond's Fairfax is at 3949 University Drive in Old Town, across from the Fairfax Museum. Parking is free, with 60+ spaces in the building's own lot during operating hours and more at Old Town Plaza, 3955 Chain Bridge Road, a two-minute walk away. The front desk is up the stairs just inside the front door.

The Fairfax building has no elevator. Five rooms, including Save the White House III and Joker's Trap, are up a few small stairs and then on one level. The other four are up a two-floor staircase. If anyone in your group can't manage stairs, call (703) 270-0377 before you book, or choose Arlington.

Without a car, Springfield has the Metro. From Franconia-Springfield on the Blue Line, Bond's Arlington is about 47 minutes away with one change.

From Falls Church

From Falls Church, Arlington is the closer choice. It's about 6 miles by car via I-66, 12 to 28 minutes, or a few stops on the Metro. From East Falls Church, the Orange and Silver lines run straight to Clarendon with no transfer, and Google Maps had the whole trip at 19 minutes door to door on a Saturday.

Fairfax is about 10 miles the other way, and worth the drive when the group wants VR or the Game Show.
