Taste of Georgetown
If you love food, you will no doubt want to attend Taste of Georgetown. This one-day event will feature creative tastes from over 30 of the neighborhood’s top restaurants. Taste of Georgetown is the area’s most celebrated food event of the year and is now in its 26th year. Foodies everywhere, rejoice as you sample all the goods that D.C. has to offer within the heart of Georgetown.
DC State Fair
The tenth annual D.C. State Fair is set to start on September 8, 2019 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Gateway D.C. This free event is a showcase of the region’s artistic and agricultural talents combined into a one-day celebration. Focused on all things homegrown, the State Fair will identify residents in the local area, as well as their talents like cooking, baking, brewing, gardening, crafting, and sewing. There will also be a number of art and craft vendors, as well as food and drink sellers. Kids can join in on the fun by participating in a variety of contests.
All Things Go Fall Classic
On Saturday, October 12th and Sunday, October 13, D.C. will host its All Things Go Fall Classic at Union Market, D.C. The exciting music and food festival will feature a lineup of must-see performances by the likes of LANY, Allie X, Betty Who, COIN, Nasty Cherry, MUNA, Carlie Hanson, Arkells, and more. The Fall Classic will also have a diverse selection of D.C. vendors who will offer attendees a unique culinary experience. There will also be other goodies to enjoy, such as 360-degree slow motion photo booths, spray paint walls, and virtual reality lounges.
The Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival
The Bentzen Ball Comedy Festival is a partnership between American stand-up comic Tig Notaro and BYT and it is back for its tenth anniversary. The magical festival runs from October 24th to the 27th and will include a wide range of fun events. The festival will host a number of special guests who are sure to entertain. The goal of the festival is to use humor to help unite the local community through laughter.
Crystal City Oktoberfest
If you enjoy beer, good friends, and great music, then be sure to attend Crystal City Oktoberfest this fall. The Mid-Atlantic Oktoberfest will feature more than 50 breweries from D.C., MD, and VA. Guests will have the opportunity to sample over 100 craft beers, as well as a great selection of food from the local area’s best food trucks. More than just a beer festival, Crystal City Oktoberfest is a grand celebration featuring live entertainment from local bands, including the German Ooompah Band. Be sure to grab your tickets early for a chance to experience Oktoberfest the way it is meant to be.
Virginia Wine Festival
The 44th annual Virginia Wine Festival will be held on October 19th and 20th of 2019 in Ashburn, VA. This exclusive event will feature wine tasting from local wineries, access to the VA Oyster Pavilion, and a variety of musical entertainment and concessions. Attendees can also enjoy food from local food trucks and gourmet food vendors. There are even vegan and gluten-free options available. Live music will be played by some of the top bands in the area and wine pick-up service is also available. Tickets are limited so be sure to grab yours before they are gone.
Shucktoberfest & Oyster Festival
While there are plenty of fall events in D.C., you will not want to miss the Shucktoberfest & Oyster Festival. The celebration is designed for beer and oyster lovers but is fun for the whole family. The event will host more than 40 local craft beer tents, as well a host of vendors. There will also be family-friendly games, local artisans, and tasty street fare from a variety of gourmet food tents. While event attendance is free, you will need to purchase tickets which can be redeemed for beer tickets.
